Well done to the Pirates who swam at NAGS this week. Special congratulations to those who got PB's and those who got medals (Devlin, Sarah, Jacob and Aliesha). I hope everyone else has had a great break. Back into normal Pirates schedule from Monday May 5th. 

Good luck to the Pirates swimming at NAGS this week - Abigail, Aliesha, Laura, Sarah, Alex, Andrew, Devlin, George, Jacob, James, Liam, Ted and Theo.  

Good luck to our 4 Pirates (Liam, James, Devlin and Ted) swimming at the New Zealand Open Championships this week in Auckland. You can watch the finals live on Sky Sport 4 from 7 pm.

The last day of swimming this term is on Thursday 17th April. Some Pirates will be training through the holidays and swimming at NAGS 29th April - 3rd May. Good luck to these swimmers. The first day back in the pool for term 2 is on Monday 5th May.

Well done to the Pirates who swam at Div 2 last week. Special congratulations to Georgiana Forsythe who won gold in the 200m fly.

Good luck to the Pirates swimming at Div 2 in Hamilton this week - Sophie, Ella, Georgiana, Julia, Lauren and Finn.

Great job by the Pirates who swam at SNZ Juniors at Kilbirnie last weekend. Special congratulations to Jessica Reid who won silver in 100m back.

Good luck to the swimmers who are competing at SNZ Junior Championships this weekend - Jessica, Emma, Jedi, Sean and Regan. 

From Monday 27th January we are back into the normal Pirates term training times. Looking forward to seeing swimmers back on deck.

Lots going on as we race towards the end of the winter swim season. Last day of swimming for all swimmers is Thursday 26th September. No swimming over the school holidays. First day of term 4 and the start of the summer swim season is Monday 14th October. Upcoming events: Karori Pirates sprint meet, AGM with guest speaker Danyon Loader, NZ Short Course Champs for 13 swimmers.

Great to be into some warm weather! Nice and light when we get up for morning training. Lots happening over the Summer period so please keep up to date by checking the website and go and 'like' the Pirates facebook page. I will have the Christmas holiday schedule out next week. We will have swimming available all through the holiday break up until swim camps, and then immediately after swim camps. Normal swimming schedule up to Saturday December 22nd.

A great finish to Wellington Winter Champs for the pirates. We finished up 3rd placed team.Congratulations to the swimmers, team managers, parents and officials. There are 2 meets to finish the season - Upper Hutt Signature Meet and NZ Short Course Champs. Last day of swimming for this term is Thursday 27 September. We are back into it again on Monday 15th October.

Well done to 15 year old Pirate Ted Taylor who had made his first NZ team for the upcoming Australian age group champs to be held in Adelaide April 18-23.

Ted's great swim in the NZ age champs in the 400 Free (4.09) qualified him as the top 15 year old boy in NZ in the FINA rankings.

I am organising an exciting fast event that will be held Wednesday April 13th, with all proceeds going to Ted to assist him on his trip. Details to follow over the next few weeks.

Only 2 weeks until Wellington champs. Entries need to be in to Lynda ASAP. I have attached the eligibility report with swims highlighted that should be entered. This is a 4 day meet. Please discuss with me if any queries. We need all qualified Pirates to front up for this meet.

Hi all,  The Christmas holiday training hours through until the end of January are attached. Please print them out and stick them on the fridge.


  a.. If you are away for any of this time please let me know
  b.. The squad monthly coaching fees remain the same through this period. Please ensure your AP or Internet banking goes through on January 1st
  c.. All swimmers who are around ideally should be aiming to go to all their available sessions.
  d.. Tigersharks and Hammerheads who have already finished school should be attending all available training sessions from this point. It's time to commit and crank it up.

Success in Mt Maunganui.
Great results from our team of 2 who competed at the NZ open short course champs at Baywave pool in the Mount last weekend.

Samantha Lucie Smith won Gold in the 200 Free. Beating out Cara Baker and Olympian Melissa Ingram. She also won 2 Bronze medals in the 400 and 800 Free

Angus Boyle won his first Opens medal getting a Bronze in the 200 Fly.

A great meet for us and a great sunny place to be for 5 days!

Awesome Bus trip
Well done to our huge team of young Pirates who went on the bus trip to Palmerston Nth last weekend. The day was a huge success with all swimmers having a great day and bringing home a swag of ribbons and medals! Thanks to the coaches Mark, Olivia and Amber , and to Brigitte Plunket, Fleur Nicholas and Jo Wilson for being great Managers.

Lynda has emailed you all the 2 meets coming up, The Mitch Tait meet in Masterton, and The Swim Wellington Junior meet at Kilbirnie, All Pirates are urged to support these meets. Please get your enties in, and all Seahawks, Hammerheads and Tigersharks need to sign up for the bus.

Due to a double booking at the pool, this Pirates meet has been postponed and will be held sometime before Christmas. Date TBA.
